While still in early development, I submitted the pitch for one of my feature projects to some festivals, and seemingly, it struck a nerve: SONNENBACH (stay tuned for more this year) was awarded Best DECK or TREATMENT or SYNOPSIS at the SCRIPT AWARDS LOS ANGELES .

And even though MOIN did not select SONNENBACH for the next round of NEST (March 2026), I am looking forward to put more work into this project soon!

New Support Options for FLAUSEN unlocked!

The StartNext crowdfunding campaign for FLAUSEN has wrapped, all perks have been shipped, and you wonderful people receive your exclusive merch.

But the truth is: the campaign did underperform, massively so. Of the 10.000€ we hoped to raise for FLAUSEN, you still donated about 5.600€, which is amazing! Enter platform and credit card fees, production and shipping costs, and taxes. In the end we are still happy that we have about 4.000€ left, which is still great, but of course way less than we need (about 96.000€ lol).

Yet, closing one support option means opening another one: You can now support me and my projects like FLAUSEN on Ko-fi , a free and easy to use tipping and shop system !

Restructuring Our Funding To Make The Year Count

Liebe Unterstützende,

die Verlängerung unserer Finanzierungsphase geht zu Ende, und wir haben es tatsächlich geschafft: ihr habt 5.500€ gesammelt, um FLAUSEN fliegen zu lassen! Unseren unendlichen Dank dafür!

Natürlich sind wir von unseren angestrebten 10.000€ noch sehr weit entfernt.

Aber euer Vertrauen in das Projekt, das Feedback von Fachpublikum auf Festivals wie dem FAB, die neusten Nominierungen für das Drehbuch, oder unsere Gespräche mit Produktionsfirmen zeigen uns:

FLAUSEN ist ein Film, den die Menschen sehen wollen! Daran ändern auch die Förderabsagen in der letzten Runde nichts.

Wir überarbeiten momentan unsere Finanzierung und Kalkulation, um unsere nächsten Förderanträge breiter aufzustellen, und durch kleinere Beträge realistischer eine Förderung zu bekommen.
Gleichzeitig suchen wir weiterhin nach Firmen als Sponsoren, um so neben unserem Eigenanteil von ca. 5.500€ auch weitere Schritte machen zu können: Wir brauchen dringend ein Animatic und mehr Visuals, denn diese hätten sich die Fördergremien gewünscht. Und das kostet natürlich Geld.

Aus diesen Gründen haben wir beschlossen, unser Crowdfunding auf die maximale Laufzeit von 150 Tagen auszuweiten, und somit bis zum 20.12.2025 laufen zu lassen. So bieten wir Firmen die Möglichkeit, uns direkt und unkompliziert über die Kampagne zu unterstützen.

Und wenn euch noch Unternehmen, Selbstständige, Konzerne oder auch einfach Menschen einfallen, die FLAUSEN vielleicht unterstützen wollen würden: erzählt ihnen von unserer Kampagne! Denn vielleicht sagen sie “nein”. Aber vielleicht sagen sie auch “JA!” - in jedem Fall wurde die Gelegenheit aber genutzt! Wir haben übrigens eine tolle Infobroschüre, die wir euch auch gerne schicken, um sie weiterzuleiten. Schreibt uns gerne an!

Dear Supporters,

the prolonged the financing phase of our campaign comes to its end, and we actually did it: you raised 5.500€ to let FLAUSEN fly! Our eternal gratitude for this!

Of course, we are miles away from our goal of 10.000€.

But your trust in this project, the feedback of business professionals at festivals like the FAB, the latest selections for the screenplay, or our talks with production companies show:

FLAUSEN is a film, people want to see! And not even the rejections of the funding committees change this.

At the moment, we adapt our financing and budgeting in order to widen our funding strategy to more institutions, apply for more and smaller amounts, and thus make a funding more realistic.

At the same time, we keep on looking for companies as sponsors, to raise more funds besides the mandatory deductible of 5.500€, and to be able to go the next and very necessary steps: we have to make the animatic and more visuals, something the funding committees would have wished for. And this costs a lot of money.

For those reasons, we decided to run our crowdfunding campaign over the maximum length of 150 days, until the 20.12.2025. This gives companies the possibility to support our campaign in an easy and direct way.

And should you have ideas which companies, freelancers, enterprises or just people maybe would love to support FLAUSEN: tell them about our film and our campaign! Maybe they say “no”. But maybe the answer is “YES!” - in any case, you took the opportunity to open a door. We also have great info material, which we can send to you, to show and forward. Just let us know if you want some!

FLAUSEN Film Funding Updates II

NO Public Funding For FLAUSEN This Time

When the bad news hit, they do all at once, I guess.

After the FFA, now MOIN did not select FLAUSEN for funding, either.

This sets us back substantially in our efforts to fund this short film, for right now, we only have our crowdfunding campaign on StartNext, which has 15 days to go to reach our goal of 10.000€ - and we are a little over 5.000€ at the moment.

I put a lot of my hopes on the talks we have with a production company from Czech Republic, as well as private sponsors, but raising 100.000€ is a lot. But I will not give up, until FLAUSEN flies!

FLAUSEN selected for KOŠICE International Film Festival

Another Official Selection for FLAUSEN's screenplay

Absolutely unexpected, but the more welcome: one week ago I received the news, that the screenplay for FLAUSEN has been selected for this year's KOŠICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL as one of 25 selected projects out of 5500 submissions ! This information was under embargo, so we had to keep quiet for a while, but it did not dampen the joy! I absolutely feel honoured to be a part of this festival, and hope for the best!

The festival takes place December 12–14 at Kino Úsmev in Košice, Slovenia.

Absolut unerwartet, aber umso schöner: letzte Woche kam die offizielle Selection für das KOŠICE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL herein geflattert, als eine von 25 ausgewählten Projekten von 5.500 Bewerbungen! Leider durften wir nicht sofort davon erzählen, aber das hat die Freude nicht verpuffen lassen! Ich fühle mich geehrt und hoffe auf's Beste!

Das Festival findet 12–14 Dezember im Kino Úsmev in Košice, Slovenien, statt.

FLAUSEN Film Funding Updates

There have been some changes to our plans...

We had a rather simple and straightforward plan how to fund our 3D-animated short film FLAUSEN: Apply for public funding with the FFA (Film Förder Anstalt) and MOIN Filmförderung (Hamburg-Schleswig Holstein), and raise the mandatory deductible with our crowdfunding campaign on StartNext .

When we got turned down by FFA this week for this funding round, our entire plan collapsed, since film funding schemes are built on top of each other.

And while we hope so much for the MOIN to fund part of our film, we need to come up with a new way to get together about 40% of our film's budget.

When we pitched FLAUSEN at the FESTIVAL of ANIMATION BERLIN (FAB 2025), we received a lot of love and very positive feedback from producers, people are interested in working with us on the production, and want to see the film!

And we are in talks with a production company , which is interested in helping us apply for another film funding (not in Germany), and would like to produce FLAUSEN with us.

Nevertheless, we now have to raise way more funds to get the calculated budget together in order to be able to start production, and to make FLAUSEN become reality.

So how can YOU help? Our crowdfunding campaign on StartNext is on the home stretch, and we need everyone to share our campaign to as many people as possible, to tell small businesses and even companies of our film, and maybe get them to invest in our little indie film.

Eigentlich hatten wir einen ziemlich einfachen und geradlinigen Plan, wie wir unseren 3D-animierten Kurzfilm FLAUSEN finanzieren wollen: wir haben uns auf Filmförderung bei der FFA (Film Förder Anstalt) und MOIN Filmförderung (Hamburg-Schleswig Holstein) beworben, und wollen die vorgeschriebene Eigenbeteiligung mit unserer Crowdfunding Kampagne auf StartNext sammeln.

Aber als wir diese Woche die Absage von der FFA für diese Förderrunde erhielten, fiel unser gesamter Finanzierungsplan zusammen, denn Filmförderungen bauen aufeinander auf.

Und auch wenn wir so sehr hoffen, dass die MOIN einen Teil von unserem Film finanziert, müssen wir natürlich einen neuen Weg finden, etwa 40% von unserem Budget zusammen zu bekommen.

Als wir FLAUSEN auf dem FESTIVAL of ANIMATION BERLIN (FAB 2025) gepitched haben, haben wir so viel Liebe und sehr positives Feedback von Produzenten erhalten, Menschen wollen an unserer Produktion mitarbeiten und den Film sehen!

Und am besten: wir sind in Gesprächen mit einer Produktionsfirma, die uns dabei helfen will, uns auf eine andere (nicht-deutsche) Filmförderung zu bewerben, und die interessiert daran ist, FLAUSEN mit uns umzusetzen.

Trotzdem müssen wir jetzt sehr viel mehr Geld einsammeln, um das kalkulierte Budget zusammen zu bekommen, in Produktion gehen zu können, und FLAUSEN Realität werden zu lassen.

Aber wie kannst DU uns unterstützen? Unsere Crowdfunding Kampagne auf StartNext ist auf der Zielgeraden, und jede Unterstützung hilft: teile unsere Kampagne mit so vielen Menschen wie möglich, mit local businesses und großen Firmen, damit diese vielleicht in unseren kleinen Indie-Film investieren.

While FLAUSEN always gets lots and lots of attention, awards, production, funding, my other brainchild KITCHEN STORIES often sits on the shelf and waits for its time to come. Time to celebrate this screenplay as well, which too, got its share of selections and recognition: Travancore, Palermo, Kyoto, and maybe some more to come soon!

And for those who ask, what this is about:

KITCHEN STORIES is a slice of life film about an old kitchen, watching over the life of a young woman, who lives on her own for the first time. It will be a 2D animated short film with a runtime of about 11-15 minutes, and I am looking for all the help I can get making this film.

Festival of Animation Berlin 2025 was a blast!

Two weeks post FAB, I am still full of joy!

Presenting FLAUSEN at @festivalofanimationberlin FAB Pitch with Merrill was so much fun,

and being included in this format with so many other wonderful and thrilling projects and talented filmmakers, receiving so much love and great feedback for our idea, the visuals and the story, and connecting to a lot of exciting people who believe in our vision, as well, makes FAB a truly wonderful experience. And maybe, there are some really cool things to come out of it, too!

Zwei Wochen sind seit dem FAB vergangen, und ich bin immer noch geflashed!

FLAUSEN beim @festivalofanimationberlin FAB Pitch zusammen mit Merrill zu präsentieren hat super viel Spaß gemacht, und Teil von diesem Format mit so vielen anderen wundervollen und aufregenden Projekten und talentierten Filmmemacher*innen zu sein, so viel Liebe und tolles Feedback für unsere Idee, die Visuals und die Story zu bekommen, und sich mit so vielen aufregenden Menschen auszutauschen, die auch an unsere Vision glauben, macht das FAB zu einer absolut wunderbaren Erfahrung. Und vielleicht zieht es noch ein paar spannende Dinge nach sich!

TWO TRAVANCORE WINS FOR FLAUSEN

FLAUSEN goes to India!

That was fast and unexpected: FLAUSEN got invited to several festivals in India (see our FESTIVAL LIST ) and followed the absolutely lovely request of the people at TIFA . And not only won once, but twice and got awarded "Best Debut Short Script" and "Best Animation Adventure Short Script"! We are absolutely happy!

We have been selected to present FLAUSEN at FAB

Being the (still) young talents we are, Merrill and I are so happy to have been selected to participate at this year's FAB PITCH at the Festival of Animation Berlin 2025 !
The FAB Pitch gives filmmakers the opportunity to pitch their animated film in development to an industry audience. The focus is on projects aimed specifically at a teen and/or adult audience. With everything possible – from comedy to drama, from high concept to slice of life – every genre and every format is welcome in the FAB Pitch. What makes the pitch so exciting and diverse are the animation projects in various stages of development.

KITCHEN STORIES SEMI FINALIST IN KYOTO

This is the first nomination for KITCHEN STORIES

What could be more fitting for a film about a kitchen, than to be awarded its first nomination in a country that values food and the kitchen as highly as Japan. Personally, I spent a week in Kyoto last year, and have so many fond memories of the old capital, made friends, and learned (ate) a lot - so I feel very honoured to have been nominated Semi-Finalist for this wonderful short script. The final decision will be made on July 4th, so fingers crossed!

It has been quiet for some time now about this little gem of project.

Too quiet for a project so dear to me.

I'm even more happy to announce that I found a wonderful artist, Anna Freitag, with whom I will work on KITCHEN STORIES and bring the tales a kitchen can tell to life.

There is lots to do and much to work on

Long time no update on FLAUSEN, but rest assured (OR BETTER BE EXCITED), because it only is kind of quiet around here, because right now we are setting up production .

We are working on the state/country funding scheme applications for FFA and MOIN, and already send off the one for FAB and CEE.

FLAUSEN made a visit to the ITFS in Stuttgart, got some great advice on how to proceed from Ron Dyens, the producer of FLOW and made some new friends.

We are in talks with some really great artists for concept art and character design, as well, and happy that Micah Jonsson and Judith Vidal joined Team FLAUSEN.
And something really exciting is coming your way in June, so watch out!

This year, we went to our very first ITFS (Internationales Trickfilm Festival Stuttgart, watched a million amazing films of all sorts of animation, craft and make, attended masterclasses on stop motion and other sorts of filmmaking, talked to some really exciting people, collected wisdom, and made some new friends from all over the globe.

Surprises such as the notification, that FLAUSEN is still going strong though the competitions at this year's Belgrade International Film Festival and now advanced to be Quarter-Finalist! The BIFF will be going through seasonal selections, cumulating in the annual festival event on September 30th and October 1st 2025 in Belgrade.

FLAUSEN awarded SPECIAL COMMENDATION for exceptional writing at the BAFF 2025 in London

It was the day of the British Animation Film Festival , and we got up at 5 a.m. to fly to London, eat a bunch of amazing stuff, have some pints and enjoy this marvel of a city, to attend the festival in the evening.

The British Museum probably is the grandest location for a film festival, and the Film Festival Guild did an amazing job making the evening a total success - thanks to Jess!

We watched a lot of wonderfully crafted animated films by so many talented and lovely artists, awards were handed out, and suddenly I was called up on the stage to be awarded with special commendations for exceptional writing for FLAUSEN and additionally to the LOTTIE LIST - an absolute surprise, but a welcome one!

Being part of the BAFF's Class of 2025 honours me a lot, and I can't wait to see what comes next from our group.

While the 97th Academy Awards were celebrated in Los Angeles, we also got news, that FLAUSEN might not have won an Oscar, but already was selected as Semi-Finalist at the MILAN INDIE FILM FESTIVAL , which are to be held on MARCH 3.

UPDATE: This was an especially wild ride, since FLAUSEN not only was selected Semi-Finalist on Sunday, but also Finalist on Wednesday, and finally proclaimed WINNER in the category

I am beyond words since FLAUSEN not only has been selected for this year's lineup for BRITISH ANIMATION FILM FEST, but also included in the LOTTIE LIST ! This list is in honour of Lott(i)e Reiniger, the artist behind the very first full-length animated feature, and celebrates screenplays of outstanding quality.

The BAFF was the very first festival I submitted FLAUSEN at, so the joy and pride of our little bird making it this far is huge!

The British Animation Film Festival and screenings will take place on Friday the 28th of March 2025 at the British Museum.

A little more about my background.

As a kid, I always wanted to tell stories and make movies.

I never went to film school, nor did I become a writer, not in a traditional way.

Instead, I went to acting school, got a diploma in film and theatre, worked in Europe and the US.

At acting school, we did learn a lot apart from acting, as well: film theory, writing, camera work, directing, editing. Every semester, we had to write, produce, in short: make a short film on our own to be screened at the end of term. This all was to make us view the production process as a whole, know and appreciate its other parts worked, and be able to help everyone do their job better.

When I quit acting years later, I could resort to all I had learned and picked up along the way, and go back, or rather forward to where I always wanted to be.

Yet, life wouldn't be life if not for some twists and turns, so I wrote and directed, produced and shot, and learned, collected references, stories, images, material.

Today, with over two decades experience in writing and directing various short formats, as well as commercials, music videos, serials and animation, and my rich background in acting, editing, producing and photography, I know how to bring stories to life, to reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary, to touch hearts connect audiences with the universal language of cinematic emotion.

QUICK UPDATE: FLAUSEN made OFFICIAL SELECTION CHICAGO SCRIPT AWARDS!

Another selection for FLAUSEN, this time the CHICAGO SCRIPT AWARDS 2025 !

There were 547 submitted projects, of which 126 made the official selection, and 32 became winners, 28 received the Honorable Mention award. Although FLAUSEN did not win one of the Diamond Quill trophies, being selected in this competition means a lot to me, and shows the quality of our little bird.

Seasons Greetings From Me To You

A long and breathtaking year comes to an end, a year full of change, adventure, and more than anything:

full of the new!

To quit the old and secure job, a long travel through Japan with loads of impressions (things are coming!), Heides and me founding our businesses and all the madness that comes with being self-employed, many wonderful meetings and talks with old and new contacts, many small seedlings bound to grow and blossom next year, two short film screenplays written, festival submissions, and, and, and.

The days between the years is best used for clean(s)ing, reflection, recharging, to gather new energy and clarity in order to begin the new year without burdens of old.

Directory, Marketplace, Award.

I didn't know DesignRush until they approached me.

Their team of expert designers had come across my work and liked what they saw. Hence they selected my showreel to be featured in a blog entry on " The best video designs of 2024 ". I feel honoured to be listed among creative agencies, typography labs and animators, creators and fellow artists.

So why this particular reel, some might ask? What makes it special?

Before going freelance, I have been working as a writer, director and creative producer in a marketing agency for six years. There, I have done quite some work in automotive, tech and healthcare.

I always set out to create my visuals with one goal in mind: to touch the audiences on an emotional level. To tell a story people can connect with, wether it is the freedom of driving down the 101, or portraying a patient’s way of living with an illness, whether it is a company image film, about portable devices, or the possibilities of a credit card - it always boils down to story and emotion. And the images will follow.

The same applies to my own showreel, and any audiovisual creation. The segments I am fond of the most in my reel are shooting on a frozen lake at the Swedish polar circle, and meeting Hollywood legend Tom Stern at his home in the south of France.

It Sure Took Some Time To Get Here

The multitude of sayings and proverbs in existence telling you that good things come to those who wait, with time, this that pineapple has its merits, but in my experience, it is a little more needed than just time.

When I had to drop out of my old executive job by the end of last year, time was very badly needed, for it had been a rather rare commodity for the last decade. In fact, I have paid with the most part of my thirties to learn. Learn about myself, learn what I am capable of doing, where my limits are, to listen to my body and my heart - but first and foremost: what is not for me. Being an Executive and not able to work creatively anymore, for example.

Therefore, after almost being burnt out, it took me quite a while to heal, to get back to a place of creativity, to find out where I was going. And it took many people along the way, to guide me, to point into the right direction, to challenge and support ideas and concepts and plans. All of this took time.

All of the effort and energy and work that has been put into the pot together with the last half year's time comes together, condensed into today's plat du jour: from today on, I am my own enterprise, I'm open for business, and I am looking forward to all the stories we will share!

It has been a bit quiet around here, but...

But! We're told never to start a sentence with "but", yet here we are. Maybe there is something true about the idea that not everything we're told has to be true for everyone. There are so many conventions and mechanisms in place, just there to hold us back and prevent us from becoming our true self, from actually doing that one thing we always wanted to do.

One year ago, I was so disillusioned about my work, I took the opportunity offered to build up a production company inside the agency I worked for. It was some kind of last straw I was grasping, to maybe find my place in a company I had tried to make better for years. And what happened was: I failed.

Don't get me wrong, I set up a wonderful team of talented people, got the system running, the work kept coming, the team kept growing - for the company a success. The one I failed was myself. It took me the rest of the year 2023 to realise, and even longer to understand, that this was not for me. I am no manager, I am a storyteller. I did not fit into this business world without destroying myself.

"Find what you love and let it kill you."

Dear Charles Bukowski, of course everything will kill us in the end, but I'd rather stick with Max Fisher:

"Find something you love to do and then do it for the rest of your life."

It just has a better ring to me.

And that is exactly what I finally started doing this year. I set myself free from the conventions and expectations and follow my path, I finally start telling my own story. Currently I am working on getting back to the world I strayed from for so long, back to telling the stories that I want to, need to tell. No more hiding behind jobs and restrictions, behind what's expected and what can or can't be done. I am back at making films, for good, for life.

So what am I working on at the moment (because we all know, you are only working, when you're working)?

Starting my own business as a screenwriter and director naturally takes up a lot of space and time. Besides this, there are several animated projects in the making: an animated feature which may or may not contain a lot of wool and some cats; a limited miniseries (animated), as well as another short film project. And then there is something special coming up this May (no dolce vita, sumimasen). And I finally got new glasses.

I am looking for suitable representation to take me on (screenwriting and/or directing) and walk the walk with me, as well.

Reflections on Age and Life and Living Your Dreams

My name is Thomas, and I am 37 years old.

When I was born, the Cold War was still on, Germany was still divided by a wall, and anything digital was a long way in the future.

I tell stories as long as I can speak, and speak I did with 18 months of age. In full sentences.

When I was little, I saw pictures of Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe and James Dean in a book about classic movies, and something strung a chord in me. I started thinking in stories and frames and angles, long before I even know what any of that meant. My parents bought a DV camcorder, which I never was allowed to use, but I got a small Olympus photo camera, which I used a lot. I became obsessed with cameras, not for technical reasons, but for the purpose of seeing the world through a viewfinder, of framing life my way. There still was no internet for a long time, so I had books, MTV, and the movies. Oh the movies!

My first own video was a music video for a band contest, I wrote it in our school’s break room on a Wednesday, then produced and directed it with a friend doing camera and edit later on. At some point we ended up standing on the roof of the school building and directing 800 people to form words and shout a slogan. We made second place, I was 16 years old, and knew, what I wanted to do for life.

Instead, I became an actor for several years, working here and abroad, and yet, it always pulled me behind the camera as well, learning, soaking up lighting and techniques and processes. So during the many thirsty stretches not acting, I kept on producing, writing, directing, and at some point I realised that I was more directing than acting, remembered the path I once wanted to follow, and took an my way back.

Alas, being a Millennial with all the flaws of my generation, it took time, and pain, detours and courage to finally take the leap, take on the fight for my life’s dream.

In a recent conversation with my doctor, she managed to call “still young” and “a middle-aged man” during the same thirty minutes. I did not know what to make of it at that moment. Then, I woke up the other day, and I realised:

I am making movies for more than half my life.

I am telling stories my entire life.

I have not even reached half of my life expectancy, and I am expected to work for the next at least 30 years.

I am a writer and a director.

My name is Thomas, and I am only 37 years old.

... but it needn't be. For BARMER, I wrote and directed a series of videos to guide people from abroad through the basics of German health insurance. Produced together with Content Fleet, these animated videos help to understand how to apply for insurance, where to find a doctor or specialist, and which recipe is needed for medication at a pharmacy.

Since the first version made for English speaking expats, students and employees, this series has been translated and dubbed in several other languages, such as German and Ukrainian.

This was one of my favourite productions of the last years. The briefing was rather grim, though: "We need a commercial to make inexpensive low price devices attractive for three different target groups." So it was early autumn in our second year of the pandemic, Jean Pütz had just turned 80, and we stood in front of the closed gates to his grounds, waiting for him to awaken and spend the week with us, sharing his ways of living with wet AMD.

Company Videos are allowed to be funny

When Content Fleet went through a make-over of their online presences, I got the liberty to write and direct the company video as well. For an agency which calls itself one-stop-shop and tries to market everything and anything for their clients, we went bananas to follow the orange along the sales funnel. Written and directed by me, we shot on the last two days before the world went into lockdown in March 2020.

A truckload of LEGO bricks make you go 'Mamma Mia!'

The pandemic gave us a brief break in Summer 2020, LEGO released the first Super Mario sets, so we set out to see what else could be done with them. So we ordered some more bricks. And then we built. The outcome: a 5 meter long and fully playable scale model of Super Mario's level 1.1.

Written and directed for MediaMarkt Saturn's online magazine TurnOn, the first question after wrapping up the video was "how do we get almost 5 meters of LEGO from Hamburg to Cologne and back?". But that is the story of another film.

When we started the last re-brush of Content Fleet's website in 2020, we needed a video, as well. I somehow came up with the orange theme, and we ran with it. the video was shot in the last two days before the world went into lockdown, we even had to halt shooting for some hours while the government announced this new measurement nobody knew how to deal with then.

This is the portrait of the engineers and test drivers making sure that expensive high-powered BMW M car you're about to purchase will hold up to the legend and lore of al the M-cars which came before.

Written to move and produced together with Mecom, I directed this very cool video in February 2019 just north of the polar circle.

An Indian Summer joyride through the Rhön valley

There are people who collect stamps, and there are those who collect a certain model of BMW M3. Matthias Unger is the latter, so I wrote and directed a portrait of this very special collector (and his dad, who started the collection), and together with Content Fleet and Mecom went on a joyride with him back in time.

This was the very first production I wrote and directed for BMW M. We spent some hot and petrol-fuelled days on Austria's Red Bull Ring, diving deep into the world of driver trainings on the track.
